Carpinteria Beach,
directly across the street from Sunset Shores, provides opportunity for many water sports –
surfing, kayaking, and snorkeling to name a few – and smaller breaks, perfect for beginners, make it a
perfect place to swim.
Anchored rafts are placed in the water from mid-June through Labor Day and boogie boards, kayaks,
umbrellas, and other beach going equipment are available to rent from the city owned beach store.
Volleyball, sunbathing, and picnics are also popular everyday activities at Carpinteria Beach while Rincon Point –
just south of Carpinteria Beach – is considered among the finest surfing spots in the world.
Play golf and tennis nearby, go for a hike, bike tranquil mountain roads, or take a short drive to
Santa Barbara, with its
historic mission and scenic
harbor.
An easy and scenic daytrip farther north is the quaint Danish village of
Solvang and the Santa Ynez Valley
where winery tours and wine tasting are a great way to spend the day. Explore mystical
Ojai or simply stay put and enjoy
the small town pleasures of Carpinteria.
